The McGill MBA Women Association’s (MMWA) is one of the most active and popular associations in the McGill MBA program. Its mission is to maximize the professional development of female students and alumni of the McGill MBA program through strategic engagement with the McGill community and broader Montreal networks.
The MMWA seeks to enhance the skills of the women in the MBA program in order to promote women’s success in a professional environment and increase the number of women who achieve leadership positions and maximize their leadership potential. This is achieved through business simulations, roundtable discussions, and consulting opportunities that provide strategic support to both the private and non-profit sectors. The MMWA’s aim is to help its members maximize their leadership potential.
The MMWA held the Montreal Women in Business Conference last March in partnership with Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business Women in Business Club. The conference themed “Inspiring Future Leaders” gave young leaders a great opportunity to learn and be inspired by successful businesswomen in the Montreal community who shared their perspectives and knowledge in several panel discussions. The event was a great success bringing together over 150 attendees including MBA students, alumni, faculty, the business community, and distinguished speakers.
Amongst other activities, the MMWA is proud to support “Women on the Rise” a non for profit organization in Montreal helping women and their child through tough times. The MMWA supports the organization through several fund-raising events each year.
